One of the most appealing points of the mental calculation app Sorotouch is that you can finish the program within two (2) years. You might think that it depends on the kid. What does it mean to graduate? Will it be the end? Let’s try to answer that question.
It takes about two (2) years to finish the program.
[bubble] It’s reassuring to know that you can finish the program within two (2) years.
Mastering mental calculation in just two (2) years is astounding. Another attractive point is you can take the program with other extracurricular activities such as piano and sports.
Fact is, if you come and visit one of our classrooms, the majority of the kids attending our Sorotouch program have mastered mental calculation.
In this article, we would like to give you ideas about the attainable level of proficiency in calculating mentally before your kid graduates.
Is it obligatory to graduate within two years? What about individual differences?
Granted that the child finishes at least one mission (Flag) a day, they will finish the program on time, within two (2) years.
- One (1) mission a day.
- 30 missions a month = About one (1) stage
- Stage J1 to stage J12 in the first year.
- Stage S1 to S12 in two (2) years.
In other words, the goal of everyone should be to finish at least stage S12.
by the time your kid finishes stage S, they can confidently calculate the following:
Plus (+) Minus(-)
2digits 7 units to 3 digits 4 units
Multiplication
3 digits x 1 digit, 2 digits x 2 digits
Division
4 digits ÷ 1 digit

A kid with this level of math will do very well in the lower grades of elementary school.
Take note that there are levels above stage S that your kid can further challenge.
A year? Six months? Sometimes you can graduate much sooner.
[balloon] My kid does his/her best to finish three (3) stages every day…
Since the recommendation of 1 mission a day is calculated from the span of two (2) years, if your kid is working hard and finishing missions at a faster rate, they can finish the program earlier.
Some students graduate (complete the S-stage) in about six months. About 10% of all students progress at that pace.
They are firmly hooked on Sorotouch that parents no longer need to remind them to open the app.
Every parent wants their kid to advance as fast as possible, but keep in mind that a slowdown is inevitable, especially when carry-over or multiplication comes out. It is wise not to become impatient at those times.
Based on our observation, A lot of the kids struggle during the early levels of stage J. They get frustrated when there is a problem they continually do wrong or they’re advancing at a faster pace than they can, which may result in a loss of interest.
Kids losing interest is the most common reason for not being able to finish the program, and is often seen in online students.
On these occasions, we recommend participating in a traditional classroom environment to regain their motivation.
What should we do after finishing the program?
If your kid advanced beyond stage S, they can try and challenge stage U. It is more difficult and will make your kid faster in mental calculations.
Accomplishing stage U will further give your kid the edge in mathematics. This will give them great confidence in the future.
